New Drawing

Drawn from life in pastel on toned paper, 11x14 inches

I finally got access to a scanner, though only for 10 minutes.

Here is a drawing I finished a little while ago, but hadn't been able to scan until today.

I have some more stuff, but they are all rather large, and have a whole host of logistical issues involved with scanning. They will be posted sometime later.

  1. Oh! Very nice. Especially the lower lip, so smooth and shiny and kissable. You know, reading your essay, I had all but forgotten you did art.

I tip my hat to a Renaissance man.

  2. And a tip of my hat to a very intelligent woman.

  3. very life-like. What a pretty woman! {:-Deb

  4. Beautiful work! I also have problems all the time with scanning - especially because my paintings are on canvas! It's hard to find a scanner big enough. I usually have to scan my paintings in sections and then piece together in Photoshop :( Let me know if you come up with a good solution :)

  5. @Heather

Good to see you on my blog!

Unfortunately, photomerge in Photoshop is my best solution at this point. Even the above images, at only 11x14 inches, had to be photomerged, as the scanner is only 8.5x11 inches.

Normally I photograph paintings; this does not yield has quality an image as scanning, but is a lot more convenient. I hear sunlight is supposed to be good for photographing artwork.

I will let you know if I find a better solution.
